Representative Charlie Rangel, the influence peddling crook from New York says “some of the southern areas have cultures that we have to overcome.” This in light of the draconian gun control law recently passed in New York.
A few things to take note of: where, exactly, in the South is he referring? These mass shooting sprees seem to happen in relatively affluent communities where people like Charlie Rangel hold positions of authority. So, just so I am to understand the thinking: since thousands of people die every single day from eating too much fatty foods we should take frying pans away from mothers? Since hundreds die in automobile accidents every year we should use the car only for what is necessary? The argument is that people don’t NEED to have the ability to shoot more than 10 rounds from a single clip. I guess the next mass shooting in an affluent, I’m sorry, SOUTHERN area, will involve someone who couldn’t figure out how to carry multiple clips.
Don’t give your kid a slinky. He doesn’t need it. Don’t sell cigarettes, people don’t need them. Ditto for doughnuts, potato chips and Coca-Cola. All of which contribute to more deaths in a single day than all of the shooting spree killings in America in the last 100 years.
